About Me
I am a novelist, short story writer, and essayist from the small town of New Providence, New Jersey. My work has been published by The Asian American Writers' Workshop, Foreign Policy Magazine, Failbetter, and Guernica Magazine, among other places.
I am currently finishing my debut literary fiction novel, Indie Pop Cultural Revolution. It's about a Chinese American popstar named Lina, who is the largest international sensation since Beyoncé. Lina disappears one day, and her mother hires a private detective named Johnny Feng to find her. But Johnny's not just any detective—he’s a hard drinking, recently divorced, and existentially tortured private eye, who just happens to be childhood friends with the missing icon. In searching for Lina, Johnny unearths multiple layers of her personal history.
I studied creative writing at Vassar College and am an alumnus of the Bread Loaf Writers' Workshop. I also earned my masters in international finance from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and work as a management consultant by day. I split my time between New York City and Bangkok, Thailand, where my partner is currently stationed as a foreign service officer.
When I'm not writing or working, I enjoy playing with dogs, watching movies, and trying new restaurants and cafes.
